When fed correctly based on your dog or cat’s weight, Schesir Wild Fish Oil provides approximately 50-300 milligrams of linoleic acid, the essential omega-6 fatty acid. On the one hand, linoleic acid is essential for your pet because it cannot be produced by your pet’s metabolism; on the other hand, large amounts of unbalanced omega-6 fatty acids have been shown to cause a higher risk of inflammatory disorders, arthritis, joint stiffness, and a weak immune system. The most rapidly metabolizable omega-3s come from cold-water fish such as salmon.
Numerous tests have shown that the oil extracted from wild salmon and cod caught in Alaskan waters has a very high Omega 3/6 ratio (9-10), three times higher than oils obtained from farmed salmon.
